We've extended our support for an award celebrating the brightest young talent in the fresh produce and flower industry.

We're sponsoring the Young Person of the Year prize at the Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) Fresh Awards, for the third year in a row.

The prize will be handed out at a glittering gala night, which takes place at the Tower of London on June 25.

Last year’s prize went to Jacob Kirwan, innovation manager at G’s Fresh, who oversaw the introduction of a sophisticated crop monitoring system to measure the growth of iceberg lettuces and predict demand for the product.

He was presented with his award by Phil Storer, UK Director for IPP, and former England cricketer, Graeme Swann.

Phil said: “When we sponsored this award in 2018 and 2019, it heartened me to see the innovation and forward thinking which is taking place in this industry.

“It is very important to nurture and support young people starting out in the FMCG industry, which is why we’re delighted to put our name to this award for a third time.”

The Fresh Awards are run by the Fresh Produce Consortium, the UK trade association for the fresh produce and cut flower industry, to celebrate achievements in the field.
