Managing seasonal demand, handling high volumes, and ensuring impeccable quality all the way to the shelves.

To meet these challenges, L’Atelier des Producteurs, a subsidiary of Les Fermes Larrère, relies on IPP for the management of its wooden pallets destined for the retail sector.

Located in Liposthey, in the Landes region, the packaging site receives, washes, sorts, and grades vegetables before shipment. This industrial activity is subject to significant volume fluctuations, requiring perfectly controlled logistics flows.

Logistics Flows Subject to Strong Seasonal Variations

Historically specialised in carrots before diversifying into cabbage, sweet potatoes, asparagus, and more, the company cultivates nearly 1,960 hectares, half of which are dedicated to organic farming. In line with its commitment to controlling the entire value chain, Les Fermes Larrère manages every stage of the process, from production to distribution, supplying retailers, wholesalers, and processors.

Each year, 115,000 pallet movements are carried out from the Liposthey site to retail chains. The challenge is clear: ensuring the availability of reliable, compliant pallets without adding operational complexity or increasing day-to-day management constraints.

A Circular Choice Aligned with the Site’s Values

To support these fluctuating volumes, L’Atelier des Producteurs chose IPP’s pallet pooling solution.

From the Liposthey site, IPP delivers the pallets, which are then loaded and shipped to supermarkets. Once the products reach store shelves, the pallets are collected by IPP, sorted, repaired if necessary, and returned to circulation.

“In line with our values, we operate with a mindset that combines economic performance with environmental responsibility. The circular model of rental pallets fits perfectly with this philosophy,” Anthony Lafargue, Packaging Manager at L'Atelier des Producteurs

Uncompromising Quality, All the Way to the Shelves

Pallet reliability is a key factor in ensuring products arrive safely in stores and in preserving product quality throughout the logistics chain.

Thanks to rigorous quality controls and proactive fleet management, IPP pallets have an average lifespan of around ten years. Their robustness and compliance fully meet the requirements of the retail sector, offering a more reliable alternative to standard Euro pallets or one-way pallets.

Operational Simplicity on a Daily Basis

Beyond pallet quality, the site teams also highlight the simplicity of the IPP system in their day-to-day operations.

Each week, pallet requirements are estimated through IPP’s digital platform. Movements are then centrally declared, with only two stock counts per year required. The site uses 80x120 and 60x80 Düsseldorf-type pallets, fully integrated into existing logistics flows.

A Long-Term Relationship Built on Trust

At the heart of the partnership, IPP acts as a trusted partner, combining close customer support with operational efficiency.

As volumes evolve and complexity increases, IPP acts as an invisible force, ensuring logistics flows remain smooth, reliable, and fully under control.

“We maintain transparent and constructive exchanges with L’Atelier des Producteurs in order to support the long-term growth of Les Fermes Larrère,” Michael Karadjinov, Sales Director France at IPP.
