About IPP and pallet pooling

Pallet pooling is a system where companies use pallets owned and managed by a pooling provider instead of buying, storing, or repairing their own. IPP delivers pallets when needed, collects them after use, inspects and repairs them, and returns them to circulation. This reduces waste, costs, and administrative effort.

IPP delivers reusable pallets, boxes, or crates to your location. After they move through your supply chain, we collect them, inspect and repair them in our service centres, and redeploy them for the next trip. This creates a closed, circular loop.

Pooling removes the costs and complexity of ownership. You avoid purchasing pallets, storing them, organising repairs, or managing disposal. Pooling also reduces CO₂ emissions through reuse and shared logistics and ensures consistent quality.

IPP pallets are brick brown and marked with “Property of IPP”, “Property of IPP Logipal”, or “Property PP” on the side.

Services, pricing, and contracts

Pay-per-use means you pay for one usage cycle of a pooled load carrier – from the moment a pallet, box, or crate leaves the IPP pool until it re-enters it after use. It does not mean single-use. Every carrier is reused, repaired, and redeployed.

Pricing is tailored to each customer and depends on flows, volumes, and service options. You only pay for what you use, based on one of our services: > One-Way Trip > Trade Direct > Trade Collect > Day Rental More details are available on our website.

No. There are no hidden charges as long as the terms of the agreement are respected. Any potential additional costs are discussed and agreed in advance.

No. IPP does not sell pallets. We operate exclusively as a pooling service.

Yes. We deliver full pallet spaces. The minimum is one pallet space. Vehicle load sizes depend on pallet type and trip type. For special requirements, please contact us.

There are no fixed rental periods. Costs depend on how long pallets stay in your supply chain, from dispatch until they are ready for collection.

Operations, delivery, and returns

One-Way Trip: Pallets are delivered from an IPP depot, inspected and repaired to our quality standard before dispatch. Trade Direct: Pallets are delivered directly from another market location without depot inspection in between.

Yes. Wooden pallets and boxes can be supplied heat-treated and ISPM 15 compliant for an additional cost. These pallets carry the official IPPC stamp and are suitable for international trade.

All major European retailers accept IPP pallets.

Deliveries are planned from day A to day C. Standard delivery hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00.

You can request a collection via our online pallet collection form. IPP will organise the pickup.

Nothing special. Report them and IPP will collect them. We repair or replace damaged parts at our service centres.

No. Collection of broken pallets is free.

Normal wear and tear is included in the pricing. Simply report the damage so we can organise collection and repair.

Once the shipment is declared in the IPP Portal, responsibility transfers to IPP.

IPP pallets remain IPP property. If pallets are not returned, additional costs may apply according to the agreement.

Yes. IPP can organise pallet collection from retailers, distributors, or other delivery points agreed in advance.

Availability and scalability

No. IPP operates a large pallet pool and a European network of service centres. Availability is monitored proactively, even during peak seasons.

We offer flexible solutions for urgent requests. Contact us and we will adjust planning where possible.

Yes. Pooling is suitable for a wide range of volumes. Each case is assessed individually.

Sustainability and compliance

We use responsibly sourced materials, maintain pallets through reuse and repair, and recycle materials at end of life. This reduces waste and CO₂ emissions.

PPWR is an EU regulation aiming to reduce packaging waste and increase reuse. For transport packaging, it requires 40% reuse by 2030 and 70% by 2040.

IPP’s pooling model already meets PPWR’s reuse principles. Customers using IPP pallets are well aligned with the regulation.

EUDR requires companies to ensure products made from materials such as timber are not linked to deforestation.

Yes. IPP sources certified timber (FSC®/PEFC™) and, as part of Faber Group, is implementing digital compliance tools. Customers do not carry the compliance burden themselves.

Pooling reduces emissions through reuse, shared logistics, reduced empty transport, and optimised routing. IPP participates in Lean & Green Europe to measure and validate reductions.

Digitalisation and tracking

Yes. IPP works with Connected Load Carrier (CLC) to provide IoT-enabled pallets and boxes with location and condition insights where required.

No. The contract is only between IPP and your company, provided the retailer accepts IPP pallets.
