Today’s supply chains move fast and face growing demands. Businesses need solutions which are flexible, reliable and sustainable – not just in theory, but in daily operations. At IPP, we’ve built our reputation on a robust pool of high-quality wooden pallets. Now we’re expanding that offer. By introducing plastic pallets and specialist load carriers like boxes and trays, we’re giving customers more options without adding complexity. With one partner and one contract you get access to every format you need to move your products efficiently.
One load carrier doesn’t fit all
Every supply chain works differently. That’s why IPP offers a mix of reusable load carriers in wood, plastic and specialist formats, so you can choose what works best for each part of your operations. As a logistics partner, we tailor pallet management to your unique needs.
Plastic pallets, for example, are often used by supermarkets and discount retailers to place products directly on the shop floor. This means goods don’t need to be unpacked onto shelves, saving time and cutting costs, especially in fast-moving, high-volume environments.
Whether you need strong wooden pallets, easy-to-clean plastic ones or stackable trays, we help you find the right fit. This way, your supply chain runs more smoothly, with less waste.
Circular by design, in both wood and plastic
At IPP, circularity is built into everything we do. All our load carriers, whether made of wood or plastic, are pooled, reused and repaired for as long as possible. At the end of their life, they are collected and recycled into new ones.
Each material brings its own strengths. Wooden pallets, made from sustainably harvested timber, are a reliable and versatile choice across most supply chains. Plastic pallets offer additional benefits in specific settings, such as closed-loop and high-turnover flows. They are lighter, require less maintenance and have a longer usable life.
Material sourcing is equally important. We use sustainably harvested timber and fully recyclable High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) for plastic ones. By reprocessing materials into new load carriers at the end of their lifecycle, we support both the circular economy and long-term sustainability goals.
Ready for the digital supply chain
The IPP L1 plastic pallet is equipped for the digital supply chain from the start. It comes with barcode and datamatrix, which both allow for efficient scanning, plus Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and beacon technology for efficient tracking.
In parallel, we are now digitising our wooden pallet pool. This means that, over time, every format in our pool – whether wood or plastic – will carry both a physical and a digital identity, giving you seamless control and visibility.
This means it is fully compatible with customers' internal systems and the 10G network*, which allows for data transmission speeds of up to 10 billion bits per second (10 Gbps). This technology allows you to track assets, emissions and dwell times in real time. Automated inbound and outbound confirmations reduce manual handling and improve operational visibility. Importantly, you remain in control of your data, deciding what to share and when.
Across our pool, every load carrier is equipped with both a physical footprint and a digital one – giving you full visibility and control over each pallet, box or tray. This ensures your assets can be tracked and managed seamlessly throughout their lifecycle, supporting smoother operations and smarter decisions.
What this means for your business
With an expanded range of load carriers, you now have greater flexibility without increased complexity. One contract gives you access to wooden pallets, plastic pallets, boxes and trays, all supported by one provider and one point of contact.
This flexibility builds resilience. It allows you to adapt quickly to changes in demand, automation requirements and evolving regulations. Our load carriers are backed by performance data, giving you the information you need to support sustainability reporting and compliance.
Let’s shape the right mix, together
If you're exploring new pallet types, considering more efficient box formats, or assessing the carbon footprint of your current pool, we’re here to help.
Together, we can design a practical and efficient mix of load carriers that meets your operational needs, supports your sustainability ambitions, and keeps your supply chain moving forward.
Case StudyWe’ve explored the real-world trade-offs between plastic and wooden pallets. Plastic pallets offer benefits like hygiene, easy cleaning and lighter weight, while wood remains a strong and cost-effective option for many flows. The takeaway? There’s no one-size-fits-all solution and that’s exactly where IPP comes in. We help customers assess their supply chain needs and select the right mix of materials for maximum efficiency and sustainability. |
*The 10G Network is a digital infrastructure developed by BTV and Faber Group. It connects load carriers, pooling partners and customers across Europe with real-time data insights. This allows for smarter decisions, improved traceability and higher supply chain efficiency. |
