Reducing emissions in logistics requires consistent measurement, long-term planning and operational discipline. IPP Spain has achieved the Lean & Green 4th Star, the highest distinction in this European programme coordinated by AECOC. The certification verifies a 55% reduction in CO₂ emissions from our logistics operations. Only seven companies in Spain have reached this level. This achievement reflects how a reuse-first pooling model, supported by efficient transport and strong collaboration, can deliver measurable and sustained environmental impact.
A verified 55 percent reduction in CO₂ emissions
The Lean & Green 4th Star is awarded following independent audits that confirm long-term, traceable emission reductions. For IPP Spain, this means:
-
55% fewer CO₂ emissions from logistics activities
-
demonstrable, sustained improvements across transport efficiency
-
verified reductions rather than estimated gains
Each Lean & Green star represents a higher level of ambition: 20, 30, 35 and finally 55%. Achieving the fourth star confirms that emissions have been reduced consistently and at scale.
How IPP Spain achieved this reduction
Several operational improvements contributed to this milestone:
Route optimisation
Reduced empty kilometres and more efficient transport flows across regions.
Higher load efficiency
More pallets moved with fewer trips.
Digitalised processes
Greater visibility and improved planning across the network.
Collaboration with logistics partners
Shared efficiencies and aligned routing decisions.
Alternative fuels and electrification
Expansion of HVO use and ongoing progress in electrification initiatives.
These actions make transport more efficient while supporting IPP’s sustainability objectives.
Circularity at the core of our pooling model
Circularity is fundamental to IPP’s business model. By repairing, reusing and redistributing pallets across a managed network, we reduce the need for new materials and extend the lifespan of every load carrier.
The 4th Star highlights how a circular system, combined with efficient transport operations, lowers emissions not only for IPP but also for manufacturers and retailers who depend on reliable pallet flows.
A step towards net-zero emissions in 2045
As part of Faber Group, IPP continues to progress toward its commitment to net-zero emissions by 2045. The Lean & Green 4th Star is a significant milestone on this journey and reinforces the value of long-term, data-driven sustainability strategies.
A stronger partner for sustainable supply chains
With this recognition, IPP Spain positions itself among the most advanced logistics organisations in the country. For customers, it demonstrates a pooling model designed to support:
-
lower emissions
-
reliable pallet availability
-
operational simplicity
-
circular, traceable pallet flows
IPP remains committed to supporting manufacturers and retailers seeking efficient, circular and lower-carbon logistics solutions.
